Glasgow carjacking e-mail warning is bogus say police

by Conrad Murray last modified 2007-12-17 02:52

An e-mail warning of a "carjacking scheme" in Glasgow is bogus, according to Strathclyde Police.

The alert from Det Con Brian Molloy said criminals are placing paper in rear windows. When motorists get out to remove it, their car is stolen.

But DC Malloy does not exist and police said there was no such scam.

The e-mail, circulating among city centre office workers, asks those who receive it to forward the warning. Police said it should be deleted.
