A company called Vehicle Network called me after I advertised in Auto Trader promising me instant buyers who never showed up: is this a scam?
Vehicle network called me after I had advertised in Auto Trader. They said they had customers lined up on their finance system. The said if I paid a refundable deposit of £89.99 they would organise viewers within 24 hours. I foolishly paid this and after checking them out on the web found I could have made a big mistake...
Unfortunately there are numerous companies such as this who operate canvassing scams. They usually have "hundreds" of buyers willing to buy your battered 12 year old Fiesta or pristine new Ferrari (and all points in between). The common factor is no buyer shows up as they very rarely exist.
Instead you are buying very expensive advertising on a rarely viewed website and that is how they scam you and avoid prosecution. If you want to advertise a car put it on Auto Trader or a similar high profile and reputable site.
